This Graduate Environmental Consultant role develops graduates across environmental assessment, ecology, geo-environmental work, flood risk, heritage, surveying, GIS and nature-based engineering while working on multidisciplinary projects.

What you’ll be doing:

During this role you will have the opportunity to be embedded within the following teams to gain exposure to different environmental aspects of our business: Biodiversity and Ecology, Ground Solutions (Geo-environmental), Heritage and Archaeology, Water and Nature Based Engineering, topographical surveying and Project Coordination and Digital Solutions. 

  • Assisting the business in delivering environmental enhancement to offset development impact, delivering integrated environmental and sustainable solutions to the most complex of locations

  • You will work alongside experienced environmental consultants to develop skills in flood risk and engineering, contaminated land, ecology, surveying, heritage and project coordination whilst working on a range of different projects; with a key focus on developing an understanding of the synergies between a range of disciplines and how this can be used to deliver sustainable and cohesive outcomes.

  • Support from experienced engineers, scientists and technicians will quickly see you understanding modelling methods, environmental data analytics and GIS systems.

  • You will start work on smaller projects, with an emphasis on skills development to help you up the learning curve.

  • You will quickly start working more independently on larger and more challenging projects.

  • The position is for a graduate with strong aspirations to pursue a career in environmental assessment.

  • Working with clients across the transport, residential, commercial, industrial, health and retail sectors ranging from local and national developers and contractors to public sector bodies.

What you’ll bring:

  • A master’s degree in an environmental related discipline and a relevant degree in an analytical subject such as engineering, geography, mathematics.

  • Good IT skills

  • Desire to work on schemes at a strategic level

  • Industry relevant software packages, although training provided

  • Keen to share your ideas about how we can do things better

  • Great communication skills developed through well-rounded life experience - academically, socially and in any previous work situations

  • Enthusiastic and ambitious to learn and progress

  • Comfortable working outdoors and motivated by being in natural environments.

  • A problem solver with strong communication skills

  • Personal organisation skills, and the ability to work well within a team

  • Full UK Driving Licence
