Ballards Graduate Corporate & Transactions Tax role develops graduates in corporation tax compliance and transaction/advisory tax, working with businesses across different sectors while completing professional tax qualifications.
If you’re curious about how tax shapes business and transaction decisions, Corporate and Transactions Tax gives you the chance to build specialist knowledge while understanding the commercial world around it.
At Ballards, you’ll work with real clients from day one and learn how tax applies to businesses and transactions at different stages of their journey. You’ll support core corporate tax work and, as your knowledge develops, gain exposure to wider transaction and advisory taxes - all while working towards your ATT/CTA qualification.
What you’ll do
Support Corporate and Transactions Tax work for real clients across a range of businesses and sectors.
Learn the foundations of corporation tax compliance, including how tax computations and returns are prepared and reviewed.
Build your understanding of how accounting information feeds into tax work, researching technical points and supporting accurate calculations.
Support client and HMRC communications, building confidence and professional relationships as your experience grows.
Gain exposure to wider advisory and transaction tax work over time, which may include areas such as reorganisations, business sales, share schemes, R&D relief, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, Stamp Duty, SDLT, VAT and PAYE/NIC.
What you’ll get
Fully funded ATT/CTA professional training and study support
Real client experience from day one
Mentoring, feedback and structured career development
Flexible hybrid working
25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
Pension, life assurance and Employee Assistance Programme
Electric Car and Cycle to Work schemes
Enhanced family leave
Who we’re looking for
You don’t need previous Corporate and Transactions Tax experience. We’re looking for graduates who are curious, analytical, comfortable working with detail and ready to learn.
You’ll be working towards, or have recently achieved, a minimum 2:1 degree in any discipline. You’ll bring strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, good communication and the confidence to ask questions and take ownership of your development.
It’s about who you become along the way.
You’ll join a supportive, collaborative environment where your ideas are valued, your development is guided and your responsibility grows with you.
