Role description

Within the Technology Management function, you will support the development and maintenance of technology strategies and roadmaps across key technology areas. The role involves contributing to the delivery, performance monitoring, and reporting of research and development projects, while providing support and guidance to technical teams throughout project lifecycles.

You will help coordinate financial and progress reporting, engage with internal and external stakeholders including universities, and monitor emerging technologies of interest to the business. In addition, you will support the development of technology roadmaps, promote new research opportunities, and contribute to activities that help shape future platform and build strategies.

Core Duties

  • Support technology projects from mobilisation through to closure by reviewing technical proposals, initiating financial approvals, supporting project meetings, assisting with financial reporting, and capturing lessons learned.

  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies through research, supplier engagement, conferences, exhibitions, and industry monitoring activities.

  • Deliver technology investigation projects to assess new capabilities, opportunities, and their potential application within the business.

  • Engage with stakeholders across the organisation to communicate technology insights, share findings, and promote innovation opportunities.

  • Collaborate with the Technology and Product Strategy team to support the development and delivery of future technology and product roadmaps.

  • Support communications and engagement activities that raise the profile of research, innovation, and technology development across the Submarines business and wider BAE Systems organisation.

Qualification requirements

As a minimum requirement you must have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in the following subjects: Computing / Networking or other STEM subject.
