Role Description
As a Platform Nuclear Engineer, you will support in the delivery of the product in your area and see how the Platform Nuclear Engineering Department contributes to the wider business and UK enterprise. You will have the ability to communicate, exchange & challenge ideas effectively both verbally and in writing within a specific subject area with technical depth.
Core Duties
• Carry out routine work, with SME supervision, and understand safety consequences in a high-risk environment.
• Assist with research problems and issues, gather information from a range of physical and informational sources, review defects on platform or assembly to gain a basic understanding of the problem and all relevant circumstances.
• Develop technical knowledge of the Nuclear Steam Raising Plant (NSRP) with support of the PNED Build and Test Team engineers.
• Have an awareness of Nuclear Site/Authorisation Conditions.

Qualification requirements
You must have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a minimum 2:2 bachelor’s degree or a pass at master’s level in the following subjects: Engineering, Physical Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Materials, Chemistry and Physics.
