Graduate Water Engineer - Civils (Water Utilities)

Our work ranges from small-scale civil engineering projects to novel nature-based solutions and major infrastructure programmes of national significance. You'll be supported by a local network of technical specialists who work together to deliver meaningful, high-impact projects.

Key responsibilities will include: 

• Analysis and problem solving. Assessing large datasets, gap analysis and scoping future investigation needs. This can include historic drawings, surveys, catchment information, hydraulic models, reports. You will work with a variety of Contractors to specify and manage surveys, including site visits.  

• Develop solutions. You will develop and appraise a range of option types through calculations and design, sketches, workshops, technical drawings, developing bills of quantities working in and with multi-disciplinary teams. We promote a culture of learning and sharing, in a safe and supportive environment.  

• Collaboration. Communication and collaboration internally and externally. Presenting and sharing your work, participating in reviewing and challenging our own designs. We want to hear everyone’s views, in an open and collaborative environment.  

• Safety, quality and excellence. You will be expected to keep good records of meetings, reports, workshops and technical reviews, data management, design decisions and technical outputs

• Continuous learning and curiosity. We will provide an environment for you to learn and be curious about new ideas, challenging each other in a supportive environment. You will be supported in working towards professional membership.  

Is this role right for you?  

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

• Minimum Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Integrated Engineering or Environmental Engineering.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential. Experience with, or an interest in developing skills in, Python, FME GIS, data management packages would be advantageous.

• Full working rights in the country of application  

• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role  

• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.
