Graduate - Vertical Transportation Engineer

Arup graduate Vertical Transportation Engineer role focused on building design and movement systems such as lifts/elevators and other vertical transportation, working with architects, engineers, contractors and clients on international built-environment projects.

The Opportunity 

Beyond standard areas of responsibility, Arup expects its vertical transportation engineers to become creative partners in the design process working closely with architects to ensure the movement of people and goods around buildings in an efficient and co-ordinated manner. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary office, preparing designs in co-ordination with project teams as well as external architects, surveyors, contractors and clients for projects across a wide range of markets. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a massive variety of projects, located all over the world and at different project stages.

You will gain a thorough understanding of the role of a design engineer, experience the use of software design programmes and visit sites to see the work undertaken while at the same time working towards chartership.   

Is this role right for you?   

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes: 

• Studying towards or have obtained an accredited Masters degree in a STEM subject, including Architectural Engineering   

• An interest in architecture and the built environment    

• Enthusiasm for a career in building design   

• Organised approach to planning work and meeting deadlines   

• Demonstrate a creative and inquisitive approach to problem solving   

• The aptitude to work on your own initiative and to be proactive   

To be considered for a graduate opportunity, your application must include a copy of your academic transcript and meet the following criteria:  

• Full working rights in the country of application  

• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role  

• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.
