You see the world through a unique lens and that’s exactly what we need. We embrace how you see things differently – it’s essential for creating a sustainable future.

Arup is a global consultancy with advisory and technical expertise across more than 150 disciplines. We guide, plan and design the future of the built environment. Globally, each year we recruit hundreds of graduates and students who help us see things differently and solve the most complex challenges facing our clients, climate and communities.

The Opportunity

Our Safety Risk and Reliability team works across a range of safety-critical and asset-intensive industries including rail, energy (nuclear, hydrogen), mission-critical infrastructure (data centres, hospitals), and emerging technology sectors. Our consultants are involved throughout the entire lifecycle—from research & development, input at strategic and planning stages, feasibility and concept design, to operations and maintenance.

The team uses its systems-based expertise to anticipate potential issues, identify inefficiencies, and help clients make informed, risk‑aware decisions that improve the quality, efficiency, safety, security, and environmental protection of their people and critical assets. We play a critical role in ensuring the safety and acceptance of new and modified railway systems on projects across the UK and globally.

We're looking for Graduate Railway Safety Risk and Reliability Consultants to join our team in the UK. You will join an unrivalled community of experts, where everyone is supported in their career path and encouraged to work towards a professional qualification.

  • Work closely with our clients and project stakeholders

  • Be involved in business development, bids, proposals and budget management

  • Work confidently in a consulting capacity with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Be highly motivated, eager to learn, and take on new challenges.
