Graduate Engineer - Strategic Water Services

Graduate water-sector consulting role providing advice to infrastructure and city clients across water strategy, regulation, resilience, investment planning, engineering, asset management, and policy.

The Opportunity

• From your first day, you'll work alongside some of the water sector's leading practitioners.

• We will support your development through professional qualification support, formal training and opportunities to contribute to thought leadership, business development and client engagement.

• This position offers the opportunity to work across strategy, regulation, resilience, investment planning, engineering and asset management rather than focusing on a single technical discipline.  

• You will benefit from collaborating with experts from across Arup's global network and play a role in shaping the future of the water sector

• Working as part of a team, your role will be to help generate advice for city and infrastructure clients on a range of policy, regulatory, asset management and engineering issues.

Is this role right for you?  

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

• A relevant higher-level degree at 2:1 Or higher.

• Interest in water sector regulation, business planning, price reviews, performance frameworks and long-term investment decisions.

• Motivation to help address climate resilience, environmental improvement, water security, affordability and sustainability challenges.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills ability to use and interpret data, evidence and research.  

• An appreciation of complex systems and the need to balance technical, environmental, social, economic and regulatory factors.

• Excellent communication skills, with a view to developing these towards eventually working with clients, regulators, partners and colleagues.

• Curiosity, initiative and an organised approach to delivering high-quality work.

To be considered for a graduate opportunity, your application must include a copy of your academic transcript and meet the following criteria:  

• Full working rights in the country of application  

• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role  

• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.
