The Opportunity

Arup's Cyber Security Advisory team helps clients understand, manage and reduce cyber risk across critical infrastructure, buildings, transport, energy and other digitally connected environments. We work with organisations throughout the asset lifecycle, providing cyber strategy, governance, risk assessments, security architecture, compliance support and cyber resilience advice.

Our multidisciplinary consultants collaborate with engineers, technology specialists and client stakeholders to embed security into projects from the outset, ensuring systems are secure, resilient and fit for purpose. By combining cyber expertise with deep engineering and infrastructure knowledge, we help clients deliver safer, more secure and more reliable outcomes.

  • Support Cyber Risk Assessments

  • Assist in identifying cyber threats, vulnerabilities and risks across client projects and critical infrastructure systems.

  • Contribute to Security Reviews and Audits

  • Review designs, documentation and operational arrangements against security standards, good practice and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop Client Deliverables

  • Help prepare reports, presentations and technical documentation that communicate findings and recommendations to clients.

  • Work with Multidisciplinary Teams

  • Collaborate with engineers, digital specialists and project teams to integrate cyber security into infrastructure and built environment projects. 

  • Undertake Research and Professional Development

  • Research emerging threats, technologies and standards while developing expertise through training, certifications and project experience

Is this role right for you?  

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:  A bachelor's degree in relevant academic discipline, such as Cybersecurity, Computer Science (inc. Cybersecurity); Digital Engineering; Mechatronics / Robotics Engineering.  

Skills and experience required for this role:  

  • Cyber Security Fundamentals

  • Understanding cyber threats, vulnerabilities and security principles.

  • Risk & Critical Thinking

  • Ability to assess risks, analyse problems and recommend practical solutions.

  • Communication & Consulting

  • Explaining technical concepts clearly to clients, engineers and non-specialists.

  • Infrastructure & OT Awareness

  • Interest in how cyber security applies to buildings, transport, energy and other critical infrastructure systems.

  • Curiosity & Continuous Learning

  • Demonstrating initiative in developing new skills and staying current with cyber trends.

  • Curiosity & Enthusiasm for Learning

To be considered for a graduate opportunity, your application must include a copy of your academic transcript and meet the following criteria:  

  • Full working rights in the country of application  

  • No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role  

  • Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.
