The Opportunity
Our Bridge and Civil Structures team in Cardiff combines deep technical expertise with advanced digital, data and AI‑enabled approaches to design, inspect, assess, manage, and renew bridges and civil structures that connect communities and support long‑term resilience. Projects range from long‑span/multi-span bridges and complex underground infrastructure to major road, rail and other infrastructure upgrades that transform how people move and live.
We are a diverse group of engineers and technicians working across bridges and civil structures within multidisciplinary project teams. Operating in a fully digital environment, we support projects at all stages of the lifecycle — from concept and feasibility through to detailed design, delivery and the management of existing assets.
Design of bridges and heavy civil engineering structures;
Inspection, assessment and guidance on the management of complex existing structures to sustainably maintain/extend their working life;
Use digital tools to carry out technical analysis.
Is this role right for you?
For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes: A Masters degree in relevant academic discipline, such as Civil Engineering; Structural Engineering.
Skills and experience interested in strong numerical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills; An analytical thought process and strive for technical excellence; Enthusiasm for a career in Bridges and Civil structures, underpinned by a knowledge and understanding of our sector and work; Demonstrable understanding of general bridge and structural behaviour and an ability to use this understanding to develop practical solutions to meet Client needs; Drive for technical excellence and an analytical thought process; Creativity and a desire to think beyond the norm ; Aptitude to work on your own initiative, be proactive and take responsibility;
Interest in and application of digital skills, such as computer coding for design automation and problem-solving is an advantage eg Python;
Experience of analytical software such as GSA, Midas, Sofistik, Strand 7;
Experience of Rhino and Grasshopper.

Full working rights in the country of application;
No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role;
Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.
