The Role

As an Apprentice Civil Engineer, you will form part of a project delivery team working on live aviation infrastructure projects. You will learn directly from experienced engineers and site teams while studying towards your degree qualification.

Your day‑to‑day activities may include:

  • Assisting site engineers with setting‑out, surveys and engineering checks

  • Supporting quality inspections and ensuring works meet client and regulatory standards

  • Assisting with daily site records, permits and reports

  • Monitoring health, safety and environmental compliance, particularly within airside areas

  • Supporting the preparation of method statements and risk assessments

  • Liaising with site teams, subcontractors and supervision staff

  • Gaining an understanding of airside safety procedures and operational constraints

By the end of your apprenticeship, you will have achieved a recognised engineering degree alongside valuable hands‑on experience in the aviation sector.

Training & Qualification

You will study towards the Civil Engineer (Degree) Apprenticeship, delivered through part‑time or day‑release university attendance alongside your role.
