A 5-month ESG and Private Markets internship at Allianz Global Investors focused on sustainability reporting, ESG data analysis, investment research, and private market investment support within the asset management industry.
Description
We are currently looking for an Intern to join the Private Markets Team. The position will be based in our London office as a temporary internship for a fixed duration of approximately 5 months.
The preferred starting date is mid-June 2026.
What you do
Support the team with quarterly investor reporting, including ESG-related reporting
Assist in gathering and analysing information from portfolio companies, including:
Decarbonisation initiatives
Potential impacts from physical climate risk
Participate in the analysis of the sustainability criteria of potential investments, including EU Taxonomy assessments
Assist with other ESG-related reporting requirements, including:
Updating ESG European Template
Supporting compliance with internal and external ESG frameworks
Analyze ESG KPIs and support their benchmarking
Perform data analysis and support reporting through Excel-based tools
Contribute to broader Private Markets activities where required, including collaboration across teams.
What you bring
Recently graduated (including 1 year graduated) or currently enrolled in your final year of university. Please note that the role needs to be filled by mid-June, therefore please do not apply if you cannot commence prior to or on this date
Expected to achieve a 2:1 (or equivalent) at undergraduate level
Strong attention to detail and a structured, analytical mindset
Solid to advanced Excel skills and confidence handling data and templates
Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills
Intellectual curiosity and motivation to conduct independent, detailed research
Interest in ESG, sustainability, and private markets
Prior experience in financial services (e.g., Asset Management, Private Equity, Consulting, Investment Banking) is an advantage
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
A strong sense of integrity and ethical decision-making
Proactive attitude and strong desire for learning and personal development
Ability to use Microsoft Copilot, with a strong commitment to ethical and responsible AI practices.
