Graduate Civil Engineer

Tyréns AKT Graduate Civil Engineer role supporting the design and delivery of highways, drainage, utilities and other civil infrastructure projects from concept through construction.

As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers on a diverse range of projects, developing your technical skills and gaining experience across the civil engineering design process from concept through to construction.

What will you do?

• Support the design and development of civil infrastructure schemes across a range of projects.

• Assist with the design of highways, roads, drainage, utilities and external works.

• Carry out engineering calculations, technical assessments and design checks under the guidance of experienced engineers.

• Develop civil engineering drawings, specifications, reports and technical documentation.

• Use industry-standard design and modelling software to develop and communicate engineering solutions.

• Work closely with architects, structural engineers, landscape architects, contractors and other consultants to coordinate designs.

• Develop your understanding of highway design, surface water drainage, flood risk, utilities and sustainable infrastructure.

• Attend project meetings and site visits to gain practical experience and understand how designs are delivered on site.

• Develop your knowledge of relevant British Standards, DMRB, Eurocodes and industry guidance.

• Learn from experienced engineers while progressively taking on greater responsibility.

What are we looking for?

• A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.

• An interest in civil infrastructure, transport and sustainable engineering.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• A proactive attitude and enthusiasm for learning.

• Previous placement, internship or relevant engineering experience is desirable but not essential.

• Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, PDS or similar is advantageous.
