Prestwick Aerosystems is one of Ayrshire's largest engineering employers and forms part of the Airbus Atlantic network. From our Prestwick site, we manufacture aircraft wing structures used on Airbus commercial aircraft programmes worldwide.  

 

About the Graduate Apprenticeship Programme 

This Graduate Apprenticeship combines paid employment with a fully funded BA (Hons) Business Management degree, giving you the opportunity to build practical business experience while studying towards a nationally recognised qualification. 

 

You'll gain hands-on experience within our Supply Chain team while developing the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours needed for a successful career in procurement, materials management and business operations. 

 

The programme is designed to help you apply academic learning directly within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.  

 

Your Degree Programme 

BA (Hons) Business Management - University of Strathclyde 

 

The programme includes: 

  • Fully funded four-year Graduate Apprenticeship 

  • One day per month on-campus learning 

  • Blended online and classroom delivery 

  • CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership 

  • Opportunity to progress towards Chartered Manager status 

  • Work-based learning integrated throughout the programme 

 

Study Commitment 

As part of the programme you will be expected to: 

  • Attend university sessions as required 

  • Complete academic assignments and projects 

  • Apply classroom learning within the workplace 

  • Undertake work-based business improvement projects 

  • 4 hours dedicated study time during working hours each week 

About the Role 

As a Graduate Apprentice within Supply Chain, you will gain experience across procurement, supplier management, material planning and operational support. 

You will: 

  • Support procurement activities and supplier engagement 

  • Assist with supplier performance monitoring and reporting 

  • Support material planning and inventory management activities 

  • Help maintain purchasing and supply chain data 

  • Work with internal stakeholders to support operational delivery 

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Supply Chain function 

 

Essential Entry Requirements 

Applicants will normally be expected to meet university entry requirements, which typically include: 

 

  • Four Scottish Highers at Grade B or above, including Mathematics and English 

  • Or equivalent qualifications accepted by the University of Strathclyde 

  • Ability to meet University admission requirements 

  • Interest in business, supply chain, procurement or commercial operations 

 

Desirable Skills 

  • Strong organisational skills 

  • Effective communication skills 

  • Ability to analyse information and solve problems 

  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications 

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
