Graduate Planner

Graduate Town Planner role at a UK planning consultancy supporting residential, commercial, education, and mixed-use development projects through planning applications, policy research, site appraisals, and stakeholder coordination with structured MRTPI chartership support.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Graduate Planner to join a growing and dynamic planning consultancy based in Winchester. The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative and supportive team working across a diverse portfolio of projects including residential, care, education, commercial and mixed-use developments.

The consultancy has built a strong reputation for delivering thoughtful, high-quality planning advice and guiding projects through every stage of the planning process. This role offers excellent exposure to a wide range of planning work, alongside ongoing mentoring and professional development support towards MRTPI chartership.

The Role

The successful candidate will assist senior planners on a variety of projects and responsibilities including:

• Preparing and submitting planning applications

• Conducting planning policy research and analysis

• Assisting with site appraisals and feasibility assessments

• Drafting planning statements and supporting documentation

• Liaising with local authorities, clients and stakeholders

• Supporting project delivery from inception through to determination

• Attending meetings, consultations and site visits

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Town Planning or a related discipline

• A Master’s degree in Planning (RTPI accredited preferred)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organisational and analytical abilities

• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

• A genuine passion for planning and development

• Previous planning experience through internships, placements or work experience would be advantageous
