Working alongside experienced engineers, you will contribute to project work from early-stage concept development through to detailed design and construction support, gaining broad experience across the full project lifecycle.The role offers the opportunity to develop knowledge in areas such as access road design, drainage and water management, highway improvements, site infrastructure and multidisciplinary engineering coordination. You will work closely with colleagues from environmental, geotechnical and structural disciplines, helping to deliver integrated engineering solutions for our clients. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will be supported by the university and a dedicated workplace mentor who will help you build technical capability, professional confidence and the practical experience required to succeed both academically and professionally.Your Impact in this PositionYou will play an important role in supporting the design and delivery of infrastructure solutions that enable major renewable energy projects to move from concept through to construction. As your knowledge and experience develop, you will become increasingly involved in engineering analysis, design development, technical reporting and project coordination activities.Working within project teams, you will contribute to the production of engineering drawings, calculations and technical documentation while developing an understanding of industry standards, design best practice and the engineering considerations that influence project delivery. Alongside your academic studies, you will gain practical experience using industry-leading software and engineering processes while working on real projects and learning from experienced professionals. The successful candidate will work 4 days a week with Tetra Tech whilst attending university for 1 day a week during the academic year.You will develop skills in infrastructure design, engineering analysis, technical communication and project delivery while gaining exposure to software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D. You will help develop, run and maintain hydraulic and statistical models, handle and interpret large datasets, produce factual and interpretative reports, and support client and stakeholder communication. Working within multidisciplinary project teams, you will collaborate with experienced modellers and contribute to the delivery of high-quality technical outputs for a wide variety of clients.Your impact in this position:In the short term, you will support live projects by producing accurate data outputs, model results and clear technical documentation. Over time, you will take greater ownership of smaller modelling tasks, contribute to model development and analysis, and build your confidence in client communication. Graduate Process Engineer role focused on designing and optimising water, wastewater and sludge treatment systems using process modelling, data analysis, GIS and engineering assessments.Purpose and scope of the role:Tetra Tech is recruiting Graduate Process Engineers to join our Water Consultancy strategy teams from June 2026. You will support process design and optimisation for water, wastewater and sludge treatment schemes within AMP8/AMP9 programmes. Day‑to‑day you will prepare mass and energy balances, develop process simulations (for example BioWin), contribute to nature‑based solutions, support HAZOPs and commissioning, and produce technical reports informed by data analysis and GIS.
