The Net Zero Teesside Power (NZT Power) project is one of the UK’s flagship decarbonisation initiatives, delivering low-carbon power generation integrated with carbon capture and storage (CCS). Role OverviewTechnip Energies is seeking a Junior Structural Engineer / EasyStructure Operator to support the structural engineering team on the Net Zero Teesside Power project. This role is ideally suited to a recent graduate or early-career engineer with an interest in structural analysis and design within large-scale energy projects.The successful candidate will receive on-the-job training in EasyStructure, Technip Energies’ internal structural analysis and design software, and will work under the close supervision of senior and lead structural engineers. Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the structural analysis and design of steel and concrete structures associated with power generation and CCS facilitiesAssist in the development and checking of structural calculation models using EasyStructure (training provided)Prepare and maintain engineering calculations, reports, and design documentation in accordance with project and company standardsSupport the production and review of technical deliverables such as design notes, calculation packages, and interface dataWork closely with discipline engineers, designers, and other project stakeholders to ensure coordinated deliveryAssist with design optimisations, sensitivity studies, and compliance checksParticipate in internal reviews, learning sessions, and technical meetingsEnsure work is delivered in line with project schedules, quality requirements, and safety standards Training & DevelopmentStructured training on EasyStructure, including modelling, analysis, and interpretation of resultsMentorship from experienced structural engineers within Technip EnergiesExposure to large-scale energy infrastructure projects, including decarbonisation and CCSOpportunity to develop toward an independent structural engineer role over time Qualifications & ExperienceEssential:BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)Strong understanding of structural engineering fundamentals (steel and/or concrete)Interest in structural analysis software and numerical modellingGood written and verbal communication skillsRight to work in the UKDesirable:Some experience in a structural engineering or EPC environmentExposure to structural software (e.g. STAAD, SAP2000, ETABS, Robot, etc.)Knowledge of UK or international design codes (Eurocodes preferred)Interest in energy, power, or industrial projects Personal AttributesKeen to learn and develop new technical skillsMethodical and analytical approach to problem-solvingAbility to work effectively in multidisciplinary teamsGood attention to detail with a strong focus on qualityProactive and positive attitude toward professional development What Technip Energies OffersInvolvement in a high-profile net zero infrastructure projectComprehensive technical training and mentoringSupportive, inclusive, and collaborative working environmentClear career development pathways within structural engineeringCompetitive salary and benefits package (role dependent) Together, let’s be part of the solution!
