Graduate Planning Officer role at St Albans City & District Council assessing and negotiating planning applications, working with stakeholders and councillors to support sustainable development and local decision-making in line with planning policyAbout the roleWe are looking for talented individuals who can contribute to the delivery of a high performing customer focused service. We welcome applications from candidates who are working towards obtaining either a planning related degree, or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning, or a degree in a related discipline and a willingness to work towards gaining an accredited postgraduate qualification in town planning. Candidates should have theoretical knowledge of the planning process and demonstrate a willingness to learn.Our Graduate Planning Officers, with support from experienced colleagues, will consider and negotiate straight forward planning applications and provide recommendations on applications. This includes making delegated recommendations, engaging with colleagues, Councillors and other stakeholders to ensure the right planning outcome.
