Develop and improve asset management policies, strategies, and ISO 55001 frameworks to enhance the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of SSEN Transmission's electricity network.The roleSSEN Transmission are looking for a motivated and proactive Asset Policy and Strategy Engineer to join our Asset Policy and Strategy team.You will contribute to the performance and continual improvement of our Asset Management System, develop strategies and frameworks in collaboration with colleagues across engineering, operations, assurance, and risk.We welcome applications from both experienced asset management professionals and those at an earlier stage of their career, including recent graduates with relevant qualifications and potential.You will:Continuously develop and improve SSEN Transmission's Asset Management System through the creation of policies, strategies, frameworks, standards, processes and specialised asset management guidance, ensuring alignment with business objectives and the delivery of value from our assets.Monitor and assess the maturity and effectiveness of the Asset Management System against ISO 55001 requirements, providing assurance and insight to support continual improvement.Build strong relationships across the business working collaboratively with engineering, safety, operations and other key stakeholders to embed asset management best practice.Actively engage with the wider asset management profession through benchmarking, industry forums, conferences, webinars and collaborative networks, translating external insights into opportunities for continual improvement and reporting key findings to colleagues and senior leadership.Contribute to the Asset Risk and Opportunities Registers, ensuring information is accurate, up to date, and shared with relevant teams.You have:Experience in supporting the development and performance management of ISO55001 certification within an asset management organisation.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical or business documentation and explain ideas to different audiences.Experience of internal/external audits and the ability to demonstrate how you have used the audit process to deliver performance improvements to an organisation's asset management system.A technical or analytical background - such as a degree or equivalent experience in Asset Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline. An Institute of Asset Management qualification is advantageous.A full and valid UK driving licence, as travel to SSEN Transmission sites and offices is an essential part of this role.About SSESSE’s purpose is to provide energy needed today while building a better world of energy for tomorrow.
