Graduate Predictive & Test Engineer
Senior plc
Focuses on simulation (FEA/Ansys), testing, and product development—helping design high-performance components for electric, hybrid, and combustion technologies. It’s a mix of hands-on testing + technical analysis, supporting real-world engineering decisions from concept to production.Introduction to Senior plc:Senior is an international manufacturing group with 20 operations in 10 countries. We design and manufacture high-technology components and systems for the principal original equipment manufacturers in the worldwide aerospace, & defence, land vehicle and power & energy markets. The Group is split into two divisions, Aerospace and Flexonics, servicing five key sectors.About Senior Innovation Centre:Senior Innovation Centre offers expert product design, development, testing and manufacturing capabilities and is the Primary European Design and Development centre for thermal management, fluid conveyance and flexible connectors. We focus on serving our customers with the latest technologies and provide unique & diverse Engineering solutions. We are experts in designing, developing and manufacturing solutions for combustion, hybrid and electric drivetrains. We also provide high performance, efficient heat exchangers for fuel cell energy applications. We offer a fully engineered solution, from design concept through to high volume manufacture, and work with many of the leading global OEMs to supply a range of world class products from our global network of companies. We scrutinise every part of our customers’ requirements which enables us to provide a truly bespoke solution that delivers real value. Our products are designed using the latest predictive techniques such as FEA and CFD and validated through extreme testing in our test and development department to ensure excellent performance, durability, and lifelong functionality. Our technologies: Electric – Combined with clean, renewable energy sources, the rapid growth in electric vehicles is making emission-free mobility a reality. We are using our wealth of knowledge to implement creative solutions which enable our customers to maximise vehicle performance.Hybrid – Global demand for mild, full, or plug-in technology is on the rise, driving a requirement for multiple drive architectures. Our expertise in a vast array of applications gives us the flexibility to develop efficient, market leading propulsion technologiesCombustion – Our core focus for combustion engines is to improve fuel efficiency and reduce harmful emissions. Increasingly strict regulation requires innovative engineering, and we combine decades of manufacturing expertise with the latest technologies.Energy – As the need for clean and efficient energy sources becomes greater than ever before. We are working with some of the world’s leading companies to develop clean, local sources of energy generation which dramatically increase efficiency and energy securityJob DescriptionKey Responsibilities: • The simulation of mechanical behavior of the components, using Ansys (static, modal vibration, linear and plastic, transient).• Operating and contributing to maintenance of several test rigs.• Use macros driving Ansys to support application engineering work for customers.• Use of CAD and Ansys to generate models for simulation.• Interpretation of experimental performance data to aid prediction and correlation.• Lead in test set up and iteration especially with multi-axis testing.• Write reports with developed conclusions based on simulation and / or test results.• Support design decisions for new products based upon simulation and test results.
