An autonomous drone operations role focused on planning, coordinating, and executing real-world UAS inspection missions for critical infrastructure across the UK.Job DescriptionAt sees.ai, we are scaling the use of autonomous systems to inspect critical national infrastructure — delivering complex missions safely, repeatedly, and commercially. This role sits at the centre of those operations. You’ll be planning and delivering real-world UAS missions, working in environments where conditions change, constraints are real, and the quality of preparation and decision-making directly impacts outcomes. This is an opportunity to take your technical skills and interest in drones, and apply them in a structured operational environment where attention to detail, judgement, and ownership matter. The RoleThis is an operations-focused role. You will be responsible for planning and delivering autonomous drone missions, ensuring they are executed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Our drones are operated through computer-based control systems, real-time dashboards, and autonomous workflows. Success depends on your ability to think clearly, plan effectively, and operate confidently through systems. You’ll split your time between:Field deployments across the UKPlanning, preparation, and analysis at our Chichester baseWhat You’ll Be DoingOperating autonomous drone missions via software-based control systemsPlanning and coordinating deployments, balancing weather, logistics, and operational constraintsManaging site logistics including travel, access, accommodation, and contingenciesCapturing and validating inspection dataActing as the link between field operations and engineering, providing structured feedbackMaintaining high safety and operational standards in all environmentsContributing to the continuous improvement of how missions are planned and executed as we scaleWho This Role Is Suited ToThis role suits people who combine technical capability with operational discipline. You’re likely to have:A strong technical academic background (e.g. Engineering, Aerospace, Physics, or similar), or equivalent practical experienceA genuine interest in drones or autonomous systems — whether through university projects, career experience, or personal flyingWhat matters most is how you approach your work. You:Think systematically and plan ahead, rather than reacting on the flyExercise good judgement, especially when conditions are uncertainTake a conscientious, detail-oriented approach to executionAre comfortable taking responsibility for outcomes, not just tasksStay calm and focused when operating through systems, data, and real-world constraintsEnjoy working in the field and understanding how things operate in practiceDrone experience is valuable — but a structured mindset and strong judgement are far more important than flight hours. This role often appeals to people who have developed an interest in drones or robotics and want to apply that interest in a more demanding, real-world operational environment.Essential RequirementsDegree-level education in a technical discipline (or equivalent experience)Based in the UKFull UK manual driving licenceUnrestricted right to work in the UKWillingness to travel frequently across the UKSome practical drone flying experience (academic, commercial, or personal)Strong technology literacyConfidence working independently in field-based rolesClear communication skillsA GVC or A2 licence is helpful, but not required at application stage. Why Join sees.aiWork on live, real-world operations, not simulationsBe part of a team deploying advanced autonomous systems at scaleOperate at the intersection of technology and real-world executionGain responsibility early and see the direct impact of your workFast growing company with career development opportunities.Beautiful office location, with onsite cafe, nursery, pool, gym, tennis courts, parkingAbout sees.aiWe’re building the operating system for autonomous drone operations, enabling advanced drones to be controlled remotely from central control systems. Our technology is transforming how critical infrastructure is inspected — making it safer, more efficient, and scalable. You’ll join a collaborative team at a pivotal stage, where operations are expanding rapidly and your contribution will directly shape how we deliver at scale.
