A Civil Engineering Graduate role at Van Elle supporting geotechnical construction projects through site management, safety planning, quality control, and engineering design on infrastructure and foundation works.We have exciting opportunities for Civil Engineering Graduates to join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor.The role will be challenging, demanding, varied and a fantastic opportunity to begin your engineering career alongside the support offered from our vastly experienced team.What you'll be doingSupport the management of site operations, to ensure safety, quality, cost effectiveness, timely production and customer satisfactionAssist in planning and sequencing of operations, including writing method statements and risk assessments, and procuring sub-contractor, labour, plant and material resourcesImplement operational quality control measures and QA processesDevelop work plans, method statements and risk assessmentsMonitor the progress of project worksTake a proactive approach in the responsibility for Health and Safety ensuring all required documentation is in placeEnsure full communication across all management levels within the projectAttend regular meetings with the client to discuss and appraise performanceEnsure that all operatives are provided with the necessary resources, materials and information for the carrying out of their duties and for ensuring that safe working practices are followedComplete quality inspections to ensure work is completed to a safe standardConduct self in a way that reflect and promotes the Van Elle company values.Understand and act in accordance with Van Elle’s policies and procedures.Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertakeWho we're looking forDegree in Civil Engineering or similarBe able to demonstrate practical experience from construction or similar transferrable skillsExperience with AutoCAD preferableIT competent in Microsoft packagesValid CSCS would be beneficialAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to work effectively to deadlines and under pressureGood attention to detail and accuracy of workEffective planning and organisation skillsA structured approach to problem solvingHave excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical, mathematical and technical skillsKnowledge of the relevant legal and safety regulationsOther Requirements:Eligible to work and live in the UK.Flexibility to travel in the UK.A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK (desirable)What you’ll get in return:Competitive salary depending on experience.Hours of work are 8.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday25 days holiday plus bank/public holidays.Permanent positionBenefits include access to Company pension, bonus scheme and Healthcare Cash Plan with family option.Onsite Training Centre offers ongoing training and development opportunities.Access to our 24-hour confidential employee support line.About UsOver the past 40 years, Van Elle has grown to become the UK’s largest independent ground engineering contractor in the UK.
