Join us as a Graduate Associate Communications Engineer at our Portsmouth site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds. The RoleAs a Graduate Associate Communications Engineer, you'll contribute to the development of innovative underwater communication systems that support mission-critical maritime operations, helping to deliver technologies that make a real-world impact. Day-to-day, you'll work alongside project managers and technical specialists to support the research, analysis, design, integration, testing and evaluation of maritime underwater communications solutions. You'll contribute to technical investigations, data analysis, system modelling, documentation, test planning and reporting, while gaining hands-on experience across the full engineering lifecycle. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, you'll help deliver high-quality technical outputs, support trials and integration activities, and develop your expertise in communications technologies within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.Your responsibilities will include:Supporting the research, analysis and development of maritime underwater communications systemsAssisting with the design, implementation, integration and evaluation of communication solutions across the system lifecycleProducing technical documentation, test plans, trial reports and presentations to support project deliveryConducting data analysis and interpreting results to inform engineering decisions and recommendationsWorking collaboratively with project managers, technical leads and multidisciplinary teams to deliver project objectivesFollowing engineering processes and best practice while identifying opportunities to improve ways of working Essential experience of the Graduate Associate Communications Engineer:Experience or knowledge of communications technologies gained through academic projects, placements or industry experienceAbility to use engineering programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, C/C++ or similar for analysis and problem solvingExperience of using RF test and measurement equipment, or an understanding of communication system testing principlesStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to different audiencesProven ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement Essential qualifications for the Graduate Associate Communications Engineer:A degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics or another relevant STEM disciplineEligibility to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the role We value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.  PTPPortsmouth Technology Park (PTP) is one of QinetiQ’s key facilities, focusing on advanced technology development and engineering services. Join us as a Graduate Acoustic Stealth Scientist at our Farnborough site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds. The RoleAs a Graduate Stealth Scientist, you will contribute to the development of advanced materials and technologies that enhance acoustic stealth capabilities in defence and security applications. Day-to-day, you’ll work within a multidisciplinary team to model, test and analyse materials performance in acoustic environments, supporting the delivery of research and development projects from concept through to reporting and customer engagement. Your responsibilities will include:Deliver high quality data analysis and interpretation to support project and customer outcomesDevelop and apply modelling techniques to assess acoustic performance of materialsPlan and execute experimental trials including materials characterisation and testingSupport project delivery to schedule, cost and quality requirementsProduce technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholdersOperate and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with health and safety standards Essential experience of the Graduate Stealth Scientist:Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to interpret complex dataExperience with modelling or simulation tools such as MATLAB or similarUnderstanding of acoustic physics, wave propagation or materials science principlesAbility to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary technical teamsStrong written and verbal communication skills including technical reportingGood organisation and time management skills with ability to manage tasks effectively Essential qualifications for the Graduate Stealth Scientist:Degree in Physics, Applied Physics or closely related disciplineDemonstrated application of theoretical physics to practical or project-based work We value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.  This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. FarnboroughAt our Farnborough site exciting work takes place at our state-of-the-art facility, with high-energy laser technologies, our 5m pressurised wind tunnel which has a simulation capability that is unique in the UK and our large research and development projects is a real hub of creativity, research and innovation.
