Portsmouth City Council

Portsmouth City Council works with other key organisations, like the police, fire service, probation service, and the NHS, to look at crime and safety issues in Portsmouth. By law (the Crime and Disorder Act 1998), we must regularly review local crime trends and priorities. This helps us create a plan to keep the community safe. We use a public health approach (looking at the whole community to stop problems early) to understand what people need, design the right support, and fund services. The Safer Portsmouth Partnership (SPP) helps bring together different plans and projects so we can make a bigger impact and avoid repeating work.
