The role is ideal for an early-career candidate, recent graduate or someone with experience who is looking for a flexible part-time position.You will support the day-to-day running of the Laboratory by helping ensure that samples, records and laboratory processes are handled accurately, efficiently and in line with required standards.What you’ll doYou will support sample administration, laboratory coordination and wider operational activities, working closely with Laboratory and Quality colleagues.In practice, that means you will:Register, label and track samples accurately to ensure correct documentation and traceabilityCheck sample paperwork, labelling and flow through the LaboratoryMaintain worksheets, records and relevant information in Excel, Microsoft Office and, where applicable, LIMSSupport the processing of analytical results and associated documentationAssist with laboratory equipment mapping and serial-number recordsContribute to laboratory projects, innovation activities and improvement initiativesSupport selected laboratory analysis activities following trainingProvide cover for colleagues when neededMaintain an organised work area and follow relevant laboratory and quality proceduresThis is a practical, site-based role with opportunities to develop over time, depending on your interests and the needs of the Laboratory teamWho we’re looking forWe are looking for someone who enjoys structured, accurate work and is keen to learn in a practical laboratory environment.You may be a recent graduate, an early-career professional or someone with previous experience in a laboratory, quality, manufacturing, food, feed, FMCG or other regulated environment.You’ll also need:Good communication skills and the ability to work well with Laboratory and Quality colleaguesBasic Excel and Microsoft Office skillsComfortable working in a busy, site-based environmentWillingness to learn new systems and processesInterest in developing your laboratory, quality or technical skills over timeSoft skills like strong attention to detail, a methodical and organised approach to handling records, labels and documentation accurately, and a proactive, curious and reliable mindset.Previous experience with sample registration, traceability, laboratory systems, quality documentation or basic laboratory analysis would be beneficial, but is not essential.
