Software development role in an Intelligent Manufacturing Systems R&D team focused on building and supporting a global Manufacturing Execution System, involving full-stack development, testing, debugging, and experimentation with Industry 4.0 technologies.The roleYou will be a key member of our Intelligent Manufacturing Systems team within the R&D Function, working in an agile environment on the development, roll-out and support of our internal Manufacturing Execution System software platform. This system is used globally throughout NSG, collecting and analysing production data to drive manufacturing improvements and innovation. There may be opportunities for occasional global travel for short periods of time.Key responsibilities of the role include:Development – designing applications from start to finish, including coding, testing, debugging, documenting and installing applications.Change Management – taking ownership when developing new features, from design to delivery across all levels of the technology stack.‘Hack time’ – investigating new cutting-edge Industry 4.0 technologies, expanding knowledge, and prototyping new ideas and features for side-projects.What are we looking for?Programming experience in any of the following: C#, ASP.Net MVC/Web API, JavaScript – particularly React, HTML & CSS.Knowledge of, and interest in, database development and administration, especially SQL Server, would be advantageous.Strong skills in software development.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Enjoy solving problems in a logical way.Innovative, great attention to detail, resilient and determined.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, for working in teams is essential.An ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge to exploit technology.Benefits25 days holiday, increasing with service, plus declared public holidays.Staff Bonus Scheme – up to 10% of basic salary, not guaranteed.Group Personal Pension Plan – a defined contribution scheme with up to 8% employer contribution.Cycle to Work Scheme.Continual professional development.On site fitness activities and events.On site car parking and electric car charging ports.On site restaurant.Closing date is 8th July 2026.
