This role blends hardware + software + hands-on engineering—from creating automated test systems to maintaining and improving existing equipment. You’ll also mentor junior engineers and help drive innovation in testing processes.The VacancyWe are always looking for exceptional individuals to join our multinational group of talented professionals and right now we are seeking to recruit a motivated and talented Test Gear Design Engineer.  In this role, you will contribute to and mentor the design, development, and build of a range of production test equipment. You will ensure testing processes are innovative and efficient, supporting Megger’s corporate strategy and enabling business growth through product excellence across all markets.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport existing test equipment in production from both hardware and software perspectives.Design, procure, and construct new test equipment from concept to commissioning.Develop software to facilitate fully automated testing of Megger products.Calibrate and support bespoke equipment designed in-house, as well as third-party test equipment.Mentor and support the development of Apprentice/Graduate Test Engineers.Experience, Skills & QualificationsAt least 5 years’ experience in an equivalent or comparable Test Engineer role.HNC/HND (or equivalent) with an engineering bias.Strong knowledge of DC/LF analogue and digital operations in microprocessor-based systems.Competency in mechanical workshop skills, including hand tools and machine tools such as lathes and milling machines.Solid programming skills in a .NET language (preferably Visual Basic and C#) for hardware and I/O control.About UsAt Megger, our mission is simple yet powerful: to help people live confidently and work safely by harnessing the energy that powers our world.
