This role is ideal for students or school leavers looking to build practical experience in ESG and greenhouse gas (GHG) assurance, working alongside experienced auditors.You’ll contribute to projects that help organisations meet sustainability regulations and demonstrate their environmental impact—across sectors such as manufacturing, energy and real estate. This role is site-based in Penkhull, Stoke-on-Trent.Why this internship?This is not just admin or shadowing—you’ll be actively involved in real sustainability projects and build valuable technical skills that are highly sought after in the ESG space.What you’ll be doingYou’ll support our audit and assurance teams by:Reviewing client data packs for sustainability and GHG assuranceChecking emissions calculations and underlying dataComparing data against supporting evidence (e.g. utility bills, energy usage, fuel and waste records)Working with recognised emission factors and databasesSupporting the review of wider ESG metricsLiaising with senior auditors and client teamsContributing to project delivery across multiple clientsWhat we’re looking forThis role is perfect for a post-A Level student, a Graduate, placement student, or someone exploring a future career in sustainability.This role will be for a minimum of 6 months, with a start date of September 2026.You’ll bring:Strong numerical and analytical skillsConfidence using Excel and Microsoft Office toolsAn interest in sustainability, carbon or environmental topicsA keen eye for detail and an inquisitive mindsetGood communication skills and confidence in virtual meetings (e.g. MS Teams)The ability to manage deadlines and work collaborativelyPrevious work experience is helpful but not essential.What you’ll gainPractical experience in ESG and carbon reportingExposure to real client projects and industry standardsThe chance to work alongside experienced auditors and specialistsInsight into potential career pathways in sustainability and assuranceBenefitsCompetitive holiday allowance plus bank holidaysEmployee assistance programmeFriendly, supportive team environment
