Support cost estimating, pricing, and commercial activities for defence, nuclear, and infrastructure projects while developing expertise in estimating and project controls.The RoleWe are seeking a Graduate Estimator to join our Commercial team, supporting the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions across defence, nuclear and infrastructure programmes. This role offers structured development and hands-on experience across estimating, commercial, and project controls, working alongside experienced professionals on live bids and projects. You will gain exposure to cost modelling, risk analysis and commercial decision-making, building strong foundations for a long-term career in commercial management or estimating.AccountabilitiesEstimating & Bid SupportSupport development of cost estimates and pricing models for complex programmesAnalyse tender documentation to understand scope, risks and assumptionsAssist with cost build-ups (labour, materials, subcontractors, overheads)Contribute to bid reviews, pricing discussions and submission preparationReview and support evaluation of supplier and subcontractor quotationsCommercial & Project ControlsAssist with cost models, cashflow forecasting and lifecycle cost analysisSupport risk assessments and contingency modellingAnalyse historic project data to identify cost drivers and trendsContribute to post-bid reviews and lessons learnedStakeholder CollaborationWork with project managers, SMEs and procurement teams to support bidsParticipate in internal meetings and support client engagement activitiesDevelopmentComplete a structured graduate development programmeWork towards relevant professional accreditation (e.g. RICS)Build an understanding of industry contracting frameworksExperience RequirementsStrong numerical and analytical capabilityCommercial awareness and interest in project deliveryProficiency in Microsoft Excel; interest in data tools (e.g. Power BI)Strong attention to detail with ability to work to deadlinesClear written and verbal communication skillsProactive, curious and eager to learnDesirableInternship or placement in engineering, construction, defence or consultancyExposure to estimating, cost planning or project controlsKnowledge of NEC contracts or government procurementExperience with data tools (Power BI, SQL, VBA)Qualifications/Certifications RequirementsDegree (minimum 2:1) in a numerate or business-related discipline (e.g. Quantity Surveying, Maths, Economics, Finance)Due to the nature of the projects we work on, restrictions relating to UK residency and nationality will apply.
