At Diamond we are currently undertaking a major upgrade of the facility, known as Diamond-II. Diamond-II will combine a new machine and new beamlines with a comprehensive series of upgrades to optics, detectors, sample environments, sample delivery capabilities and computing, which will ultimately generate an even more brilliant light source at a higher energy. About the RoleWe now have an opportunity for a Graduate Vacuum Systems Engineer or Vacuum Instrumentation Engineer (subject to the strength of your background) to provide vacuum instrumentation engineering, science and vacuum operations support to Diamond on a 4-year fixed term basis. Your main duties will include:Providing vacuum support for Diamond’s accelerators and beamlines and associated vacuum equipment.Carrying out daily monitoring, reporting and support of assigned vacuum systems.Working with technical staff, suppliers and contractors on vacuum systems designs and their implementation.Contributing to the design of Diamond vacuum control systems and interlocks and assist in their commissioning. We’re seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Marketing Assistant who’s ready to learn and contribute to a commercially focused team.You’ll support Executing Marketers in delivering end‑to‑end B2B campaigns across global events. This includes gaining hands‑on experience across websites, email marketing, SEO, social content and lead flow, all supported by structured training that develops your skills quickly.Key ResponsibilitiesCampaign & Digital ExecutionBuild and update event websites.Implement effective SEO practices to support campaign performance.Create accurate and complex registration flows for event sign-ups.Design and schedule weekly marketing emails.Produce social media and website banners.Support social media planning and content execution.Track and identify marketing-influenced revenue.Manage shared inboxes and lead flows effectively.Support outreach to media partners and associations.Assist the wider marketing team with ad‑hoc projects and requests.Team Support & DevelopmentSupport onboarding and training of new starters.Contribute ideas to improve team processes and workflows.Take ownership of group tasks and collaborate closely with the Marketing Assistant team.Skills & CompetenciesWe’re looking for someone who:Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and consistency of work.Can manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and communicate progress clearly.Works collaboratively within a team, shares workload, and actively contributes to group goals.Has a strong desire to grow and develop as a marketer, showing initiative and curiosity.Takes responsibility for their work, learns from mistakes, and suggests practical solutions.Shows flexibility, adaptability, and a positive, can‑do attitude.Has a data‑driven, analytical approach to tasks and decision-making.Understands basic marketing KPIs and the impact of the Marketing Assistant role on wider team success.Demonstrates professionalism, self‑awareness, strong work ethic, and alignment with company values.Supports rollout of new team processes and proactively keeps managers informed.Education & ExperienceA 2:1 degree (or higher) in Marketing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent marketing qualification (e.g., CIM).Demonstrable experience, such as internships, placements, or part‑time roles.Nice to have (but not essential):Experience with Google Analytics, Salesforce or MarketoExecuting social media plansKnowledge of SEODesign skills using tools like Canva or Photoshop
