A Graduate Planner role with Fife Council focused on assessing planning applications and supporting sustainable development projects across housing, infrastructure, and renewable energy.Job Details Would you like to work for an award winning Planning Service? Our systems and technology have been developed making it easy for our staff to work from any location. That means that whilst we are based in Glenrothes, the post is offered on the basis of a blended working arrangement, which can include a significant element of working from home. Fife Council’s Planning, Climate and Sustainability Service is recruiting a Graduate Planner (FC7)/ Planner (FC8) to join our Major Business & Customer Service Team dealing with strategic applications. You’ll help deliver high‑quality, sustainable development across Fife, working on major housing, renewable energy, infrastructure and regeneration proposals. The role involves assessing planning applications, providing pre‑application advice, engaging with applicants and communities, and shaping development that supports our climate and placemaking ambitions. You’ll join a supportive, multidisciplinary team working on some of the most significant projects in the region. The Person We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with a positive attitude to customer care and experience in processing planning applications. You should have sound planning knowledge, problem solving and communication skills needed to deliver an excellent planning service to our key customers. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate a level of competence and knowledge of planning commensurate with the post. In addition, applicants must hold a degree or equivalent in Town and Country Planning as well as being a member of the RTPI. Chartered Members of the Royal Town Planning Institute (Membership must be retained whilst holding this post) will be appointed at FC8 level.
