IT apprenticeship role providing hands-on installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of IT systems while studying for a BSc (Hons) in IT Management for Business at the University of Dundee.RequirementsYou will have a BBBC at Higher including two science or engineering subjects or Modern or Foundation Apprenticeship in a relevant area along with a Higher in two science or engineering subjects or equivalent in relevant subject, or relevant work experience.ResponsibilitiesYou will work as part of a team to provide installation, maintenance, support and repair of IT systems, applications and devices. Assist with first and second line support and triage of service incidents and delivery of IT projects. The post holder will be expected to attend the University of Dundee for four years, with successful completion leading to award of BSc (Hons) in IT Management for Business. The post holder will also receive training to provide an introduction to the wider practical aspects of the IT service.The IndividualYou will have experience of using computers and dealing with customers over the telephone. You will have strong written and oral communication skills, problem solving skills. You will have good administrative and organisational skills, proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Access. The ability to work on own initiative and also part of a team along with good organisational skills are essential. You will have a willingness for out of hours work as required. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
