Working from four offices across the Midlands, we offer an array of services - planning, architecture, building surveying, valuation and business consultancy - to help our clients make the most of their assets.You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team made up of surveyors, engineers, planners and architects. You will be part of a business which is big enough for a varied range of work and opportunities. However, it is small enough to provide autonomy and a chance to really get to know everyone – expanding your skills and building new connections.Your role will sit within a team whose work ranges from applications and appeals to site promotions.  At Berrys, our projects span everything from self-build houses and rural diversification projects to strategic large-scale developments.  You will have the opportunity to manage your own caseload of projects, and to develop specialist skills in areas you find particularly interesting.Role Profile - Graduate Planning ConsultantThe role will suit somebody who has recently graduated or is due to graduate, or alternatively, if you are somebody who has a few years' experience. This role offers exposure to a varied portfolio of projects, from householder and rural diversification schemes through to major residential, commercial and strategic development proposals. You will develop a strong foundation in planning consultancy, gaining experience in client management, project delivery, planning strategy and development management.Role Responsibilities - Graduate Planning ConsultantUndertaking planning research, report writing and the preparation of planning submissions to support a wide range of client projects. Managing smaller planning applications and projects, whilst supporting senior colleagues on larger and more complex developments.Preparing planning statements, appraisals and other professional reports.Liaising with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders throughout the planning process. Providing a high standard of client service to a diverse client base including householders, farmers, developers, investors and landed estates. Attending site visits and assisting with the provision of planning advice and recommendations. Working collaboratively with colleagues across Berrys' planning, surveying, architectural and engineering teams to deliver integrated consultancy services. Developing professional knowledge and progressing towards RTPI membership through ongoing training and development opportunities. Person Specification - Graduate Planning ConsultantWe are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, dynamic and motivated individual with a “can-do” attitude, who has: Undergraduate degree in town planning or a related subject (e.g. Geography)Desire to work towards Master's Degree/ Professional (RTPI) QualificationsConfident manner and willingness to learn from othersProactive and diligentCompetent user of Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookAbility to work independently and proactively with minimal supervisionExcellent written English and problem-solving abilitiesFull UK driving licence and access to a carWe will support the right candidate through a Masters degree including day release to attend in person sessions and fund your attendance at relevant CPD events and approved training. Benefits - Graduate Planning ConsultantThe role sits within a friendly and supportive team with opportunities to develop.We will offer an excellent salary for the right candidate reflective of your skills, qualifications and experience We provide Private Healthcare scheme for all via AXAWe have an Employee Assistance Programme, including a health plan and annual flu jabWe provide an entitlement of 35 days holiday per annum (pro rata to working hours) inclusive of bank holidaysAn additional day off to celebrate your BirthdayWe give an additional day of holiday for every 3 years of service There is potential for discretionary bonus We provide an enhanced workplace pension scheme operated through the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST)Following successful probation period, access to employee loan and employee discount on Berrys services We offer salary sacrifice schemes for Electric Vehicles and Cycle to Work schemeClosing Date: 19th August 2026
