The successful applicant will be based in Taplow but with extensive travel throughout the South East as required.What you'll be doingWorking as part of an ambitious and dynamic multi-disciplinary team the main purpose of the role is to support the Land team in all activities related to identifying, acquiring and managing strategic land on behalf of Berkeley Strategic, and also to support the Planning team as required.Supporting the land team in identifying strategic land opportunities located within the Company’s area of search, predominantly in the South East of England.Supporting the land team in preparing detailed appraisal of strategic land opportunities, identifying constraints and opportunities.Assist in the preparation of detailed financial appraisals in order to assess risk and return.Assist with the preparation and submission of offers to land owners to acquire development sites and negotiating commercial terms.Assist with the preparation of detailed due diligence prior to the submission of offers and exchange of contracts to clearly identify and articulate the opportunities and risks with the proposed land acquisition.Appraise a site to establish land value and writing reports on your findings including preparation and collation of land acquisition packs for Main Board Approval.Assist with the management of existing land assets including liaison with and coordination of tenants, managing agents, legal advisors and other contractors as required.Support the Planning team as required.The Land Graduate will report to the Land Manager but will play an important role working collaboratively with the senior management team of the Strategic Land business.What you'll bringUniversity Degree.Working towards RICS (Planning & Development) or RTPI membership.Demonstrable interest in and knowledge of the property development industry.Proactive, motivated self-starter, keen to learn from and add value to a highly experienced team.Organised, structured approach to work.Strong communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Be thorough and pay attention to detail.Analytical thinking skills and problem solving.Good Microsoft Office skills.Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South East region.Why join us?25 days annual leave, increasing with service to 33 days.
