Support the design, programming, testing, and commissioning of industrial automation systems, including PLC, SCADA, and HMI solutions, while working on engineering projects for major clients.This is an exceptional opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic graduate to join our automation engineering team. If you are eager to start your career delivering automation solutions for blue-chip clients in regulated sectors such as Food & Beverage, Distilling and Brewing, we would like to hear from you.Key Responsibilities – Graduate Automation EngineeringSupport the design, development, and implementation of automation systems, including PLC, SCADA, and HMI solutions.Assist with configuration, programming, and testing of control solutions in line with client specifications and project requirements.Work alongside senior engineers and project managers to deliver high-quality automation projects from initial concept through to commissioning and handover.Participate in the preparation of technical documentation, including functional design specifications, test documents, and operation manuals.Contribute to site surveys and site-based commissioning activities, ensuring systems meet performance, safety, and quality standards.Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for clients’ automation systems as required.Promote and comply with all Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality requirements in line with company and client procedures.Essential Skills & Qualifications for Graduate Automation Engineering CareersDegree (or about to graduate) in Automation, Computer Science, Control Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.Keen interest in automation, control systems, and digital technologies.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and fault-finding skills.Strong verbal and written communication abilities to interact with teams and clients.Competence with Microsoft Office applications and willingness to learn specialist automation software and tools.Collaborative approach and readiness to work within project teams on client sites as required.Full, valid UK driving licence or willingness to obtain one (desirable).Eligibility to work in the UK; please note we are unable to sponsor visas for this role.Desirable Knowledge and Additional AttributesExperience with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider or similar) through academic projects, placements, or internships.Familiarity with SCADA/HMI platforms and industrial networking.Understanding of electrical drawings and engineering documentation.Proactive, adaptable, and committed to ongoing learning and professional development.Why Start Your Graduate Engineering Career with Actemium Automation?Work within a collaborative, innovative, and supportive environment.Commitment to professional development and structured career progression.Industry-leading benefits package and flexible working arrangements.Opportunity to work on challenging projects for major UK and global clients.Be part of a business that genuinely values diversity, equality, and inclusion.🛂 Eligibility to Work in the UKWhile we value diversity and encourage applicants from all backgrounds, this role is only available to individuals who already have the right to work in the UK.
